Coolbrook is currently looking to hire a Structural Analysis Expert to help us continue to pioneer our technology.

Coolbrook is currently looking to hire a Structural Analysis Expert to help us continue to pioneer our technology.


Your main duties in this role will be:

  • Assist design engineers by providing modelled data.
  • Design parts and assemblies requiring thorough FEA simulations.
  • Performing machines’ lifetime estimations and updating them with real-world data.
  • Developing material models from scattered material data.


To fill this position, we would like you to have:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in the field of mechanical engineering or closely relevant fields. A Doctor of Science / PhD Degree is optimal.
  • 3+ Years of work experience in mechanical modelling and simulations.
  • Good knowledge of Structural Analysis theory.
  • Good knowledge of modelling approaches in mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to assist design work with FEA, theoretical or empirical models in a fast and interactive manner.
  • Proven ability to comprehensively verify a given design with FEA and get results which match with real-world data.
  • Proven ability to do all the following types of analysis: linear mechanical analysis, mechanical analysis using non-linear material models, thermal stress analysis, also including transient type analysis of all aforementioned, low and high cycle fatigue, creep analysis, rotodynamic analysis, equipment/component lifetime estimations.
  • Experience of material model development from experimental data desired.
  • Solid knowledge and proven experience of work with FEA software. Ansys is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of 3D modelling software: SolidWorks (preferred), Autodesk Inventor, DesignModeller, SpaceClaim.
  • Knowledge of data processing software/languages: Matlab/Octave, Simulink, Scilab, Python is a plus
  • Ability to think ‘out of the box’
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and practical experience on turbomachinery desired.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good written and oral English skills.
  • Fluency with basic computer software: mail, office, cloud storage, online meetings, etc. and ability to quickly adapt to the company’s software ecosystem.
