The World Economic Forum has elected Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Technology as the highest ranking furnace technology in its Near-Zero Steel 2030 Challenge.
The Challenge is part of the “First Movers Coalition”—a global initiative by the World Economic Forum and Greenhouse, with support from Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Deloitte, ResponsibleSteel™ and RMI, which aims to increase demand for near-zero emissions products and services across some of the world’s most polluting industries.
The World Economic Forum considers Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Technology as a key driver for accelerating decarbonization within the steel industry; recognizing the breakthrough technology’s ability to generate temperatures up to 1,700°C and cut 600 megatonnes of iron and steel-related global CO2 emissions annually through electrification.
This achievement marks Coolbrook’s addition to the First Movers Coalition’s ‘First Suppliers Hub’, recognizing its commitment to near-zero emissions in product and value chains.
This network fosters connections between demand and supply entities in high-emission sectors.
