Hedegaard has 15 years of leadership experience in the energy industry, including five years of industrialising and commercialising world-leading Power-to-X (PtX) solutions. He joins Coolbrook from Topsoe, where he was the CEO of Topsoe’s PtX business. He will be based in Helsinki.

The appointment comes as Coolbrook delivers the world’s first commercial RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) to Adani Cement’s Boyareddypalli plant in India. The company is also developing further projects in cement, steel and chemicals.

“Coolbrook’s next phase is about delivering projects and turning customer interest into a repeatable business. Kim’s experience in the energy sector and his track record of scaling new solutions make him the right person to lead that work,” said Veli-Matti Mattila, Chairman of the Board of Coolbrook. “We are pleased to welcome him to the company.”

“Coolbrook has the solutions to provide industrial companies with viable alternatives to fossil fuels in their most heat-intensive processes,” said Kim Hedegaard. “My priority is to work with the team, our customers and our partners to deliver successful industrial-scale projects and build a strong base for growth.”

Lauri Peltola, who has served as interim CEO since September 2026, will continue to serve as Chief Commercial Officer when Hedegaard takes up the position.

“On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Lauri for leading the company through this transition. His work as Chief Commercial Officer will remain central as we advance our customer projects and commercial pipeline,” Mattila said.

About Coolbrook

Coolbrook is a technology and engineering company working to decarbonise energy-intensive industries, including petrochemicals, chemicals, iron and steel, and cement. Its RotoDynamic Technology combines turbomachinery and chemical engineering to replace fossil fuel combustion with electricity.

The technology has two main applications: the RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) for high-temperature industrial process heating, and the RotoDynamic Reactor™ (RDR™) for electrifying steam cracking in olefin production. Powered by low-carbon electricity, it can substantially reduce emissions from industrial processes. For more information, visit www.coolbrook.com.
