HELSINKI, Finland, July 14, 2026 – Coolbrook, a transformational technology company dedicated to decarbonising heavy industry and industrial processes, has been named the winner of the Technologies of Change – Pioneering Decarbonisation award at the Reuters Events: Global Energy Awards 2026
The award recognises Coolbrook’s revolutionary RotoDynamic Technology™which enables the electrification of high-temperature industrial processes traditionally powered by fossil fuels. The technology delivers process temperatures of up to 1700°C using renewable electricity with zero operational CO₂ emissions, providing a scalable pathway to decarbonise some of the world’s most carbon-intensive industries, including cement, iron and steel, aluminium and petrochemicals.
This accolade reinforces Coolbrook’s position at the forefront of industrial electrification as demand grows for commercially viable technologies that can decarbonise heavy industry. RotoDynamic Technology™ has the potential to reduce global industrial CO₂ emissions by up to 2.4 billion tonnes annually.
The technology has been proven in pilot environments and initial commercial deployment is underway, with the first industrial installation scheduled following the Adani Cement agreement.
It is both cost-effective and sustainable in the long term. By removing fossil fuel dependency, it reduces exposure to volatile energy markets while improving efficiency. It also accelerates time to market for decarbonisation by enabling retrofits rather than requiring entirely new production systems.
Joonas Rauramo, CEO of Coolbrook, said: “We are proud to be recognised alongside leaders delivering solutions that are already delivering real impact in creating a more resilient energy future. Heavy industry remains one of the most difficult areas to decarbonize, but this award is a signal that we are making measurable progress towards a low-carbon future.”

About Coolbrook
Hailed as a key technology for industrial decarbonisation globally, Coolbrook is a transformational technology and engineering company on a mission to decarbonise major industrial sectors including petrochemicals and chemicals, iron and steel, and cement. Coolbrook’s revolutionary rotating technology combines space science, turbomachinery and chemical engineering to replace the burning of fossil fuels across major industrial sectors. The technology has two main applications: RotoDynamic Reactor™ (RDR™) for fossil-free olefin production, and RotoDynamic Heater™ (RDH™) for carbon-free process heating in iron and steel, cement and chemical production. Once implemented at scale, RotoDynamic Technology™ has the potential to reach temperatures of 1700°C and cut up to 2.4 billion tonnes of annual CO₂ emissions across heavy industry.
